Blog #2

I feel that the location of the FGCU campus is totally appropriate for the “eco-empowerment” mission of the university. First, it is centrally located. This means that students either from the North or the South will not have to travel a great distance to get to school, saving fuel.
This is my third semester at FGCU and I have noticed the solar field. Part of the benefit of the location is the availability of land to create more solar fields in the future. An unfortunate aspect is that there are some professors that still insist on the students turning in typed and printed papers instead of emailing them. This is a great waste of paper.
Having come from Haiti, I appreciate the idea of conservation and sustainability. I hope that these  values will make their way to Haiti and my home country can be saved from the lack of knowledge and greed.
